ARC-PRO PROFESSIONAL WELDING SERVICE LLC.
While traveling we found that our 5th wheel hitch, on the RV, had failed. There were several cracks in the original welds and there was no way we could safely tow the RV to a shop. Luckily we found Arc-Pro Professional Welding Service. They showed up on time, actually early, very professional and knowledgeable . They went right to worked and never stopped until the project was done . Beautiful welds great craftsmanship the man is a true professional and takes pride in his work . Luckys Steakhouse – 830 Joe Mann Blvd, Midland, MI
(Edited) We arrived at dinner time so we were not surprised that they had a 30 minute wait. They took our phone number and they text us once it was our turn to be seated. (Neat System) The hostess took us to our table and said our waitress will be with us. Our waitress came up to us not longer after we were seated and said she had 3 tables so it will be awhile. We understood because she appeared to be overwhelmed. We all know that everyone has to start somewhere and we were willing to overlook the not so perfect service. Well.. we watched her pass our table for approximately 20 minutes and did not attempt to even take our drink order or bring the bread that they bring to each table. 30 minutes later a different waitress came to our table to check to see if anyone had helped us. Well….. since we hadn’t been helped she took over our table and overall she did a nice job taking care of us. So that’s the service side of things. Now lets talk about the food. (The meal came with your choice of house salad or Caesar salad. Dora picked Caesar salad. When the salads arrived at our table the waitress noticed that Ed’s salad did not have dressing on it so immediately got Ed a side of dressing. Dora then started eating her salad and quickly realized it was dry. No Caesar dressing. The waitress went back to the kitchen to get the dressing and she returned stating they were out of the dressing and gave Dora Ranch dressing. Not a big deal since she likes Ranch but what was a bit confusing, was they were willing to send out a dry salad rather than offering a different type of dressing.) The bread was great, Ed and I each had 1 drink & they were nicely made and the steak was good. After being at the restaurant over 2 hours its sad we only can say the bread, drinks and steak was GOOD. Honestly, if we don’t ever go back, it will be fine with us.
North Bay Shore Campground – on the west shore of Green Bay North of Oconto WI.
There are 34 daily sites and a group site to accommodate your camping stay. Campers may make reservations up to a year in advance (from the start date), and reserve for a minimum of two nights (three nights on holiday weekends) and a maximum of 14 days. Reservations may be made online or by calling 920-834-6995. The rates for the RV sites are; Monday – Wednesday $15 (Non Holiday) Thursday – Sunday $30.
The park offers picnic tables & firepits at each site, a Playground for the kids, Dumpsters/recycling, a picnic area, fish cleaning station, boat launch and 2 fishing jetty’s. If your an avid fisherman you’d love this park since it is right on the water. But, since we were not there to fish, we got bored pretty quickly. In the campground information it stated ‘bike trails’ however we never found any bike OR walking trail. Maybe we overlooked it but the park is not that big so I really don’t think so. Overall the park was nice and well kept however the bath/shower house really needed some TLC. The building was bug filled and needed a good cleaning.
Hokolite was so generous to supply us with 2 types of lights that we will use in our RV life. When considering lighting, don’t consider it a splurge—it can save you from tripping on a dark pathway (again) or fumbling to find the right key. It enhances your security, work area, road security and it can even light up a party. When we initially opened the boxes we thought, hmmm they are awful small. BUT once we turned on the lights we were pleasantly surprised. The Work Lights are small but sure packs a punch. The led lights are super bright and the flash light option would be great for night use to alert other drivers OR on our job sites. The cordless Sensor Lights also surprised us. The magnetic feature is awesome for easily attaching them to our RV or items around us.

Braunig Lake RV Resort just outside of San Antonio in Elmendorf, TX. This is our second time staying here. When we stayed there a few years back, it was super busy and the feel of the park was a more resort feel. When we stayed there in early March, the park had a different feel. It was not nearly as busy, we are not sure if it was because we were there during the week or if it is pandemic related and the park seemed a bit run down. We give the campground a 3-star review because the condition of the park and the staff in the office was a bit brash. However, the outside staff were super helpful and friendly.
While staying in Galveston, we went to Top Water Grill in San Leon, TX. The restaurant sits on the water where fishermen can bring their fresh catch of the day and have it prepared and cooked at the restaurant. The restaurant serves a variety of fresh seafood. Dora was wanting her oysters on the 1/2 shell fix and she was able to get that full-filled. The oysters were so fresh and very meaty not chewy. Ed had Red Snapper with vegetables. The fish was so tasty, flaky and not fishy at all. The vegetables were thinly sliced with great seasoning. We give the restaurant a 4-star review only because we felt it was a bit pricey. The food & service were great!
We ordered through Door Dash from Yummy Yummy Chinese restaurant. When it arrived it was hot and we were shocked in the portion sizes. We had enough for the 2 of us for 2 days. I will say this was some of the best we’ve ever tasted. We also ordered the Thai Milk Tea. It came in a glass lightbulb. It was so cool! If your in the area you need to stop by or order in.
Roadrunner RV Park in Oklahoma City, OK We stopped at the park in December trying to outrun a winter storm planning on only staying 1 night. Let me start out by saying the facilities are great. Concert roads and parking spots. Very convenient to Interstate 35. Full hookups for big rigs. Since we double tow, (72 ft.) we are super cautious getting around RV parks and we did not have any issues. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Even through the COVID times, they took the time to show us all the amenities of the park. We would definitely try to stay there again.
River’s End Campground has a special place in our hearts. This was our very first winter home while work camping. In fact we came back 2 years in a row and love to vacation there. The campground has everything you will need. Full hook-up sites, tent sites, cabins, bathhouses, laundry, pool, game room and a outdoor pavilion for gatherings. I will say some of the sites are tight to get into but the staff will help if needed. Tybee Island Beach is known as Savannah’s Beach. It is located 1 block from the Savannah River & the Atlantic Ocean. The beaches are fabulous but please know that your pets are not allowed on the beach. Tybee Island itself is a very welcoming, artsy and laid back place to be. If you haven’t stayed at this campground or visited the area, its a must see.
We really enjoyed our stay at Jamaica Beach RV Resort during January of 2021. The staff is top-notch and friendly. Management listens to their customers. Owners are constantly upgrading the resort. A heated pool is currently under construction. There are two pools (one with a hot tub), an adult indoor hot tub, which is the size of a small pool, splash pad, and a lazy river. Miniature golf is also a ton of fun. Landscaping is awesome. Sites are roomy and well-maintained. There are several activities for adults and children. Walk to the beach on the gulf side or a concrete paved walkway to the water on the bay side.
We stayed at Carthage RV Campground during August of 2020. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Nice, really large spots with full concrete pads. Clean bathroom and shower, and nice common room with games and some exercise equipment. The spot we stayed in was plenty long and wide enough for our 36’ fifth-wheel trailer, truck, and car towed behind. We were about half way back in the park and only heard a little highway noise; not nearly loud enough to be a problem. This park will be on our list of places to stop again when we pass through the area.
Galveston RV Resort & Marina has friendly staff and a nice location on the bayou. Less than a 5 minute trip drive to the beach. The park was purchased by new owners approx. 2 years ago. Since the park was purchased, the managers have completed several improvements to the property. The new pull-thru sites are concrete pads with bushes in between sites. The other sites are back in on rock and are close to each other. The marina is getting a new facelift, new washing machines & dryers in the laundry and they have painted the office and landscaping.
Adventureland Campground is one of our favorite campgrounds because it is full of nice people, staff and super close to 3 of our grandchildren. It includes: electric hookups with pull-thru or back in sites, modern showers and restrooms, propane, tent camping, a swimming pool and recreational areas. The campground is within walking distance to the Adventureland Amusement Park OR you can ride a free trolley (Molly the Trolley) to the park.
Foot of the Rockies RV Campground the RV park is located near downtown Colorado Springs. Just off of Highway 24 an I-25. The ladies running the park were super friendly and helpful. They had a packet of activities prepared for us at our arrival. The RV Sites are very wide. We were able to park our RV & truck hooked up, tow dolly and car on the rock site. The park offers laundry, Wi-Fi, mail service and exceptional satellite tv reception.
Katie’s Seafood Restaurant in Galveston TX. We’ve been here several times and have had great experiences. The food was great, the manager & waitstaff were very nice & friendly. Excellent service. Nice, clean restaurant. We had a table with a great view of the harbor or this latest time we decided to be seated inside because of the cooler weather. We highly recommend Katie’s Seafood. We give it a five star rating!!!!!!!!
Dorado’s Dive Club in Surfside Beach TX. After a recommendation from a local Galvestonian, we decided to give the restaurant a try. This is now our 1st pick for restaurants from Galveston to Surfside Beach. Its about a 35 minute drive from Jamaica Beach but totally worth it. They have a outdoor dining space but it was closed due to weather but the indoor dining atmosphere was so relaxing & welcoming. The service was great and the food was AWESOME! If you in the area this is a must stop.
